Specify the rule and the place
Write the agreed rule, the named port or place and the applicable Incoterms® edition in the quotation. “FOB China” is less precise than a named port. Discuss whether the chosen rule fits the actual movement, especially where vehicles travel by container or through a logistics terminal. Ask your freight adviser to review the proposed arrangement. Incoterms® allocate particular responsibilities; they do not replace every clause of the sale contract.
Ask for a practical inclusion list
Request a breakdown covering the vehicles and the agreed procurement, domestic transport, export preparation and international freight services. Identify any insurance arrangements, third-party charges and excluded destination expenses. Keep payment terms, inspection, vehicle identification and document handover visible as separate contractual subjects. An offer that includes sea freight should not automatically be read as a fully landed, customs-cleared or registered price in your country.
Compare like-for-like vehicles
Use identical model years, trims, colours, options and quantities across the offers you compare. Check whether a quoted option is factory-fitted or merely requested, and whether the proposed vehicles have already been identified. A low headline amount can hide a different specification or a narrower service scope. Record currency, quotation validity and the basis for any freight estimate so that a later revision can be understood.
Close open questions before procurement
Ask who will arrange each leg, provide each document and communicate a change. Confirm the inspection record, cargo description and receiving contact before the vehicles move. If your destination adviser identifies a special requirement, resolve it in writing before confirming the order. Our enquiry form can collect your model and destination brief; the final quotation and responsibilities are agreed through the purchasing discussion, not created by submitting the form.
China-market manufacturer specifications. Equipment, software, connected services and export suitability must be confirmed for the selected vehicle and destination.
